Hello.

I curently have two guitars. An awesome ibanez and a *Poop* fender squier.
But now i am going to customize the fender and make it badass.

I'm gonna put an ibanez rg neck on it, a floyd rose, emg 81 85 pickups, and i am going to paint it. It'll be badass. I'll post pics when im done.

Please let me know if you have any advice or tips or suggestions on putting an rg neck, a floyd rose, or painting on the fender body.

Thanks Smile

hi mate,

first thought, you seem to be wanting to build a rock/metal axe going by pickups........but the fender body doesnt have a mahogany body, id sell both and buy the Mick Thompson MBMI, about 300 quid on net, mahogany body, fat emg based pickups, rg neck, high mass fixed bridge for loads of sustain, and not that expensive that you cant change the pickups later!

seriously though, im not sure that the neck from the RG will fit just so on the fender body, the height is tailored to the bridge height etc......so it may be more involved than you think.........

also my first post but i agree witht the above comment regarding the rg neck on a strat? i dont think i can be done without a lot of jiggery pokery, i could be wrong though wouldnt be the first time.

regarding painting check the net there is tuns of info, but look at the finished project and judge for yourself there is a lot of misinfo out there. also remember if you prep work is crap, grain filling especially, then you cant polish up a turd, i can vouch for that from experience, hours of graft down the toilet.

best of luck mate. why not get a strat neck with a locking nut fitted and then just router in a floyd rose, or have someone qualified router it in, again ive seen some awful hatchet jobs on gits.

HAGO alan.
