SR800 rumbling problem.

Hi,

I have an SR800 and I hear a bit of rumbling that comes and goes in the
background. Sounds kind of like distant thunder. I know it's coming from the bass because when I disconnect it
from the amp it stops. When I turn the volume up/down it comes and goes with
volume it gets louder with EW knobs and softer, etc. I thought it was
mostly coming from the neck pickup but then I also heard it on the bridge
pickup. I Look inside an none of the wires are loose. The battery is a solid
9 volts.. Does anyone have any advice? This is a 10 year old bass..
