1979 Fender Stratocaster For Sale
I am the original owner. It is all original. Nothing has been replaced. No modifications of any kind. The neck and pickguard have never been removed. It has the original strap and guitar cable. It is in very good to great (for its age) condition.
It has a beautiful swamp-ash cherry sunburst body. One-piece maple neck. Stop hardtail bridge. You can view pics and read more at: http://thewoodshop.20m.com/forsale.htm
I am a private owner -- not a dealer.

What are you asking for it?
Judging by the looks of the strings and minimal wear for a guitar that age, I'm assuming it's not played often...? Have you had set ups done regularly? Any warping in the neck? Let me know because I have some interest in it.

You are very correct, it has minimal wear and tear.
Here's the story....
I was in college and working virtually full-time when I bought it. So I played it quite a bit for the first two years (78-80), but at the same time I had an SG & IB Artist that I played more because of the guys I played with.
Then I married (80) and since the wife hated my playing and other circumstances, I did not play for about 15 years. After the divorce (95) I played for another year or so, trading off between it and the IB Artist. About 9 years ago (97) I cut off 5/8" off my second finger left hand. I could not play for about two years. The nail on the finger grew over the end of the finger protecting it but made it impossible to play like I wanted. Sooo, since 1997 until June of 2004 I did not play one lick. I sold everything except my Takamine, an old nylon string, and the Strat. Effects, amps, everything else went. I started playing a nylon string guitar in June 2004 and purchased a few other guitars since then.
Not knowing anything about guitar values, a good friend of mine, showed interest in the guitar last year (Will Landrum, www.guitarconsultant.com). He played it and loved it (he's a supreme shredder). Then he showed me some of the vintage Web sites selling Strats--I had no idea they had raised in value. So, since then I had it setup by a local tech (Modern Music--Lisle) and stored it in an appropriate place figuring I would try to sell it.
Price is negotiable. Email me with a phone # and we can talk about it--my dime. Or, if you just want to stick with email, that is fine: jack_loganbill@yahoo.com. I don't have to sell it, but on the other hand I am not holding out for the absolute best price.
The neck is perfect. In fact with my finger problem, the action is almost too low. The late '70 guitars are known for great necks and this Strat has the best neck I have ever played. |

The link doesn't have the Strat there anymore. Did you sell it? If so, that's cool because I didn't get to price it yet so I don't know how affordable it would be for me. Either way let me know because I still do have some interest- I thought the guitar was beautiful and I'm a working musician. Also, I don't mind calling you my cell phone (my only phone) is free long distance anyway.

I received quite a few inquiries and sold it earlier this week.
Thanks for the inquiries.
