Hey, I'd figure I'd start a new one of these 'cause the other one was rather full.

Okay... info:
My name is Matt... 17 years old... haven't been playing guitar long but my buds who've been playing longer say I've come a very very long way haha... I am into anything technical and plan on going to college for something like Computer Systems Engineering...
As for music... not to brag but I have very ecclectic tastes - I like everything from melodic death metal (In Flames is my favorite band) to hard rock to jazz to power ballads to, yeah, everything but hiphop. Some favorites include In Flames, Dredg, Shadows Fall, Staind, Van Halen, Zeppelin... yeah... you get the idea.

I know it's in my signature but I'll list my gear here in more detail:

Electric guitar: Ibanez GAX75 with the d-tuner attatchment, which is a GREAT feature... and I've done a few adjustments to it to suit my needs. It's not the greatest guitar ever but for now it works.
Acoustics: I own two... a Fender DG-16E-12 12-string acoustic/electric that I learned on (stupid, I know, but it worked just fine)... and a DG-11E acoustic. They're both black and almost match... haha
Amp: for now all I have is a Crate FXT15 15-watt practice amp, but it suits my needs for now... eventually I'll upgrade

I also use a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone distortion stompbox... 'cause the high gain channel on my PA sucks lol

Yep... that's me...

- Boss Metal Zone MT-2 distortion pedal

Oh yeah... the next Introduce yourself topic Smile. I don't know where and when was the last (i would post a link Razz) so:

19 years old (actually you can read it under my avatar; location too). I'm playing guitar for about 3 years, with half year pause, while beeing in hospital. Befor my bike accident i played in two bands. One never played any gig... we were playing in garage some Metallica and Maiden stuff. Second played some 'gothic' music, but i didn't like it, and quit after first show.

Music.. I like most of the rock music - from 70's classic to death metal. But the most important bands are Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, Apocalyptica, Motorhead, Velvet Revolver/Guns 'n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Korn.

Gear:
2003 Ibanez RG370 with stock poweround pickups... i wanted to change it, but now i play only at home, and don't need powerfull pickups right now.
Ibanez TB-50R amp - bought it very cheap and like it. It has enough power to practice and even play in small club.

Why not?

My name is Magnus, I live in Sweden for most of the year, and France for the rest part. I have been playing for about 15 years, professionally for about 9 of them, mainly doing live shows (around 160-180 a year for the last Cool and studio sessions on all sorts of music.
I also do loads of my own music, but you can cheek that out on my webpage, www.magnusolsson.com
I also work (things like doing sound clip demos of all Ibanez pedals) and do clinics for my sponsors, Ibanez and DiMazrio.

I listen to all sorts of music, but my favourite stuff is normally in the Fusion style.
Guys like Allan Holdsworth, Brett Garsed, Shawn Lane are cool, but also talented people like Sting, King’s X and millions of other stuff that I can’t think of right now.

I have loads of gear, but mainly play my signature Ibanez MO1 and MO2.
Amps are mainly Engl, but sometimes also Peavey, Fender and Laney.
I love pedals and use everything that sound cool, fun, good or crazy.
The only thing I don’t like or use are digital direct recording things, my ears don’t seem to like them to much.

I also really like the things I do when I don’t play, fishing, extreme skiing and loads of photography.

Well, that’s about it…

My name is Gregg, and I am a 31 year old Railraod Conductor. I have played on and off since I was 10 years old, and I have really gotten into playing again more than I ever have.

I now have a 79' Gibson Les Paul Custom in Silverburst, A new Ibanez RG370dx in blue, and an acoustic Alvarez Regent. The Alvarez was my first real guitar. It is a real "Cheapie", but I have had it for over 20 years, and I have not found anything that I like so much better that I would spend a small fortune on. I actually play it the most of all my guitars because it in convienent. I can't seem to recall the brand of my first electric guitar, but I traded it in for my Gibson when I was 14. I have since had a couple guitars come and go. I had a cheap Kramer autographed by Dweezel Zappa that I traded for a purple B.C. Rich Warlock, and may be one or two more that I can't remember now.

As for my favorite type of music that is a hard question to answer. I like Guns and Roses, Poison, Alice In Chains, Ozzy, Cinderella, Disturbed, White Zombie, Sublime, Led Zepplin, Eve 6, Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver, Mr. Big, Steve Vai, Tesla, Cypress Hill, Dr. Dre, Mozart, Van Halen, and just about anything that sounds good. I even like some country music. If it is good and you like it. I probably like it.

As for my favorite guitar players. I have several. I really like Paul Gilbert. If I could play like anybody it would be him. Slash has been a HUGE influience on me, and we all know there are two types of guitar players. People who came before Eddy, and people who came after. I also love Hendrix, Jerry Cantrell, Tom Morello, Steve Vai, Mick Mars, and many many others.

I like to do many other things besides play guitar: Mountain bike, lift, run, computers, party, and do anything that is fun. If anyone feels like it drop me a note. Later.
