hi everyone... anyone here tried/ owns the GAXB bass? i played one today at my dealer's & it's a rather well-playing bass.
one of its plus points is the shorter scale length, 30" to be precise & it helps a fair bit for the short-fingered among us. although devoid of a tone knob, the 3-way flick switch gives the illusion that one's changed pickups. the middle setting gives a scooped tone for that deep, low end. i pretty much think that a real tone knob would be very much appreciated.
also, the thin frets means one has to fret down the notes with extra effort, not a very encouraging feature for a beginner i must say. however, the shorter scale length won me over & i would acquire this bass in due time. a highly recommended back-up unit too. |

| correction- the GAXB sports a 32" scale length. nevertheless, this bass has been my No.1, it's very comfortable/ manageable for the pleyers who are very used to the guitar's scale length & find normal basses 'too long'. |
