I have been looking for a new amp, and I am not sure what to get. I just bought an Ibanez rg370dx, and I must say that I fell in love with it the second I picked it up. I have played a Les Paul for 17 years, and I have put it away. I have to admit I like the Ibanez better. It just seems to suit me for what I wanna do ( I have always dreamed of being a shredder). Back to the amp. I was thinking I wanted a Marshall stack, and I discovered a stack is probably just too much for me, so I looked at half stacks, and the guy at the music store showed me a Line 6 spider II cabinet and head. It is 150 watt, and I really liked it. It would probably be more than I would ever need, and it seems to play good at a low volume, and that is good for me since I live with someone else. I was wondering if you guys have any experience with that set-up, or if you could steer me toward something better. Thanks in advance. _________________ 79' Gibson Les Paul Custom (silverburst) |

Just as I started to read this I was thinking "Spider II" lol So yeah I have alot of experience with a spider II. They are great amps with alot of power and versatility. This is probably the best amp for your situation. Its designed to sound great at low volumes as well as high. You have pleanty to play with, many amp models to choose from, built in tuner, 4 customiseable channels. go to www.line6.com and watch the videos in amps/spider II they will most certainly help convince you. With vids by Slipknot's Mick Thomson, and Evanescence (ex) guitarist Ben Moody demonstrating what the amp can do for you. And of course if you want more to play with. Take a look at a Flextone. But the Spider II should be enough.
