So I have an S1 pickup, I guess I'm gonna throw that in the mid spot of my new Ibanez S540LTD. But the wires are cut way short. How do I extend these? I'm guessing I just find another wire, and intertwine them with the existing wire and VOILA. Is that right?

Also, I need the backplate cover for a s470fm. Where do I get one of these? Are all back plate covers standardized in size? Can I get a fender one?

You may try this wiring coupling effort but in the end, it may be better to just order the 35.00 switch. I can get that for you as well.
But if you splice the wires, Try and make sure thet are the same gauge wires and be sure to get some very small heat shrink to seal the solder joint splices.

Splicing? I thought I'd just take the wiring that is remaining, get new wire, and twist them together? Is that splicing?

Yeah, but if I were you, I'd solder them together, not just twist them.

My "yeah was to splicing them WITH solder.
Just realized my "yeah" looked rather incompetent..
BUT it was to the quoted comment... not the guy asking to "just twist them together"

LOL
