I baught an Ibanez SR505 with Elixirs on it, this was about a month ago. So far the strings still sound great and I play just about every day for at least 3 hours. I think I will buy Elixirs again when these finaly go dead, I like the feel and sound of the strings. _________________ Ibanez SR505-BM

For electric guitars I dont use them, but i did put a set on my old retired ESP Lynch pre production guitar and they lasted about 3 years...
But IMO, for acoustics YES. I have used them for years!
They are great.
I have also just started using the Dean Makrley coated acoustic strings (cant remember the name) and while they are not as smooth as the Elixirs, I like them as well and they seem to have alittle better tone to them.
Best thing is to give them a try on your bass and see how you like them. _________________
