| I have a RG470 and decided to remove the single coil and installed a Tele 3 way switch in an effort to get a Les Paul type set up. The pick-ups have a red, white and ground wire. Now that they're not spliting do I use the red or white wire for the positive solder to the switch. I don't want to lose any sound or pick-up power. Please help. |

Darrel,
I see your post has been sitting without a reply for a day longer than mine! My 'similar' post has been on the bass forum since 12/4 with nobody answering or suggesting anything... thought I'd try to help you out, despite that.
There's several pages / links for a variety of wiring diagrams at EMG.com (most any search engine will find it with just 'emg')
The diagrams - I do believe there was a few different ones for several 'three-way' switch configurations; and all are in PDF format and printable to hardcopy.
Hope this helps you out... if not, feel free to write back and perhaps I can direct you to somewhere more applicable.

Sorry I didn't get here sooner (only joined last night LOL).....
I'm not really familiar with the Ibanez stock pickups, really one dimarzio. But, as I recall, on the standard Ibanez pickups, the red wire goes to the switch, and the white goes to the middle tab on the volume pot (I can't remember for sure though) Ground of course is ground. On the standard Ibanez humbucker, (two wire and ground) there is no coil splitting option as far as I remember, just ran as a humbucker, so you don't really ahve to worry about that.
As I say, I am not really all that familiar with the standard humbuckers, only the 4 wire units, so I am not totally positive about all this, but I think I'm right LOL!!!!!! _________________ LGM Guitars......
