|
|
Hello fellow forum users,
I was hoping that somebody in here could share their views or experiences and help me decide which guitar to buy. The two in question are the Ibanez S470QS and the Ibanez SA160QM. Both are solid body electric guitars. I am looking for a guitar capable of providing a good mixture of sounds. I currently own an Epiphone Les Paul of which I find is great for rock, but very heavy for some lighter songs.
If you know of another Ibanez models that you would recommend please let me know. I am willing to spend between $500 to $800.
Thanks. |

Hi and welcome to the forum!!
I personall recommend the Jem series, particularly the Jew 7 VWH.
It has an alder body which sounds much nicer than the basswood bodies.. Used is best way to go on these...
If that is higher than you want to spend, the next suggestion is an ibanez Prestege series... they make them in the RG ans S form...
Check out Ibanez.com for models and specs...
Hope it helps.
Scott

| Hey, Go for the S470, because SAs are kinda bugety and they have way too harsh of a sound, I own an S470, and I have heard SAs in many different situations, and S is the way to go. THe bridges arent even comprable, the SA has a very standard, easy to use bridge, but the LO-TRS II on the S470 out preforms it on all accounts. The S470 has much better pickups too. |

In terms of new pricing, the Jem series is quite a bit more money, though IMO worth it. Used market, Jems run anywhere from $600 to $4500 dollars depending on model. For all intensive purposes here, based on the money you're looking to spend, I would recommend the RG series guitars, in a 5XX or better model (although for 2003 they are all new numbers adn I'm not sure what the new model numbers are).
Basically, in the $500 to $800 range, there are tons of Edge and LoPro Edge equipped guitars, and that will warrant best playing bang for the buck if you are looking for any floating trem guitar. Check ebay, there are tons of nice RG's, S's, radius's, out there. For good prices, and they kick!!!!! _________________ LGM Guitars......
