|
|
I have a 1999 Ibanez SoundGear SR-305 5-string bass.
The neck has a subtle "S" curve, rather than the proper bow. This causes nasty fret buzz that refuses to go away despite all adjustments. Repair would likely out-cost the instrument's original price ($399), so I'm looking at a neck replacement.
The original neck is Ibanez part number 1NKCSR52, but I haven't found pricing information or a dealer that has this part.
The Ibanez web site says to order parts through their authorized dealers, but all the dealers I've contact sell only entire Ibanez instruments, not parts.
Any suggestions, short of buying an entirely new instrument? Does any company make an aftermarket neck that is made to fit the SoundGear line of basses? |

why haven't you just made a truss rod adjustment, or had a dealer do it? _________________ ~Guitarjeff1112~

| You must not have thoroughly read my original post. I've already adjusted all adjustments, including the truss rod, of course. But a simple truss rod adjustment doesn't remove the S-curve from a warped neck. |

I don't know if they have a neck or not, but here's some places you can check:
WD Music
Stewart-MacDonald
Parts is Parts
Internet Music Supply
Subway Guitars (cheap repairs too)
Do a search in Google or whatever and you'll come up with more leads. |
