Hi,

I just aquired a BTB405 5-string bass. Does anybody know what "BTB" stands for? Just curious... It's interesting that it has it's own logo but Ibanez doesn't explain why (or at least I couldn't find it).

I like the bass so far but haven't done much work with it yet.

Thanks!

Check out the link...Ibanez BTB Page And welcome aboard. It's always nice to have another thumper in the ranks.

By the way, I'm not sure what it stands for. I've heard that it stands for "boutique bass" and I've also heard that it specifies the Bartolini pups. I'm not 100% sure, though. Either way, you have yourself a nice bass.

As far as Scott goes, I think someone needs to let him know they make 6 and 7 string basses, so any time he's ready to pick-up a real insturment... Razz

Thanks for the welcome and the info! This _is_ a nice bass and hard to believe that it sells for such a low price point. I had a little trouble setting it up, I think the previous owner messed with the treble side truss rod. I had to loosen it to eliminate some lower fret buzz. All is well now Very Happy

I recorded a test song with it and was pleasantly surprised. Here's the results:

Just remember that this is a gear test and I'm not taking this song too seriously Wink
