I think someone is taking e-mail address from the forum and using them to spam.

Well, I have an e-mail address that I don't give out to anyone. I've had it for over a year and have not received a single piece of spam in that time. I posted in the forum for Scott the other week and since then I have been receiving spam to that account. I also have been receiving (From the same senders) new spam to my account that is posted for everyone else here. Things that make you go hmmmm.

Hmmm,

Well you know, there is software that goes to a website, and records email adresses.

example

It will go through lets say the member list and everything that goes to the tune of ####@blah.com , and put it onto a mailing list for spammers. So basically anything with an @ sign is in danger.

That is why always tell my friends who make websites to write a program that makes random email adresses. so there is a page that goes on and on with random adresses on it. none of them being real, no mail can be sent to them.

On all the forums I moderate I get alot of weird spam. They also like to send me viruses. Sometimes it is just irritating.
