What do you know about Schecter guitars and basses? I over heard someone talking very highly of them, but I have honestly never heard of them. I checked out the web, but I didn't find much. (i.e. Where are they made? Fast neck v.s. thick neck, tone quality, what kind of rep do they carry?) The only thing I found out for sure is that the majority of them come stock with EMG's, which is somewhat of a turn off for me. I'd hate to drop 6 or 7 bills on a new bass, then another 2 right after that to rip out the pups and slap a set of Duncans in there. They look pretty, but no one around my neck of the woods carries them, so I can't go out and lay my hands on one. _________________ Some motherf*ckers are always trying to ice skate up hill. |

Hey Dan,
Schecter used to be a realy high end guitar in the late 80's.
selling strat and tele type copies that sold for 1000.00 and up.
but i think they went bankrupt in the 90's
They are now open again... obviously..
Their Diamond series is the only noteworthy series they have as far as I know.
Guitar Center is a dealer for them as well.
They look cool and are decent guitars for the money.
But I wouldnt pay too much for one, esp if you are having to change out the pups.
Overall, a decent guitar tho.. Im not familiar with their basses..
If you are in the market, i am a full line Jackson guitar dealer so if you decide to go the Jackson route, i can give you a great deal.
take care!

I did a little more research last night. Apparently they manufacture all of their parts in South Korea and set them up here in the states at a factory in Burbank, CA. Diamond series, that is. I don't know about anything else. Funny you should bring up Jackson, I was just looking at the CMG. That's about my price range, but I don't know. I'll probably wait until after the holidays in case anything happens between now and then I know I'll have the kids covered. _________________ Some motherf*ckers are always trying to ice skate up hill. |

Sure thing. Just let me know.
I have orderred the CMG bass for a customer already. they are nice.
One thing tho, if you order a guitaqr that is not in stock at Jackson, it could take a month or longer before it comes in stock
Let me know what you decide.
you know i do layaways too _________________
