I bought this in 1993/94 this is what I can make out.
Year-1987
Model-Ibanez RG550 (as far as I can tell)
2 single coils
1 Bill Lawrence twin blade humbucker
Floyd Rose edge tremolo edge
custom artwork by Pamelina copyrighted 1989

It wasn't until yesterday when I decided to look up the name Pamelina, and I was a little surprised to know it was painted by someone so well known.I bought it in Lakeland Florida at a pawnshop for about 500-550,and I figured it was painted by some local person. The body is in great shape, with just a slight ding here and there that's not noticeable unless you really look. After I found out who Pamelina was I became a little curious as to what it could be worth.I don't plan on selling it though.

Hi!

RG550 is one of the most cool guitars to play with for low money budget i think. Is it an Floyd Rose on it or is it an Ibanez edge (lic. by floyd). Edge are imo the best floyd-kinds of bridges outthere today. The worth in sweden would be around 300 - 500 USD depending on the condition and original parts, incl. case etc...

About the paintjob i can't say anything, i have no experiance of that, but it sounds like it should increase the value a bit.. try an ebay-auktion for it.

*Holy Censor, Batman*.. i don't know how i missed this.. i guess i was tired yesterday.

2 single coils and 1 humbucker means "not RG550" since the 550 has the H/S/H setup. It could be a RG560 which in my opinion is a *Holy Censor, Batman* good guitar as well. But that one has no pickguard, does yours?

A good picture, or more, and i would certainly be able to tell what model it is. If you haven't got any pics, then tell as much as you can about it and i will do my best to help you

It has no pickguard. One of the reasons why I think it is an 550 is when I took the neck off I saw RG550 on it.Here is a site where another person said they have an 87 Rg550 and it looks exactly like mine.Except for the paint job www.flash.net/~guitars/Marble.html

I have no problem accepting that it's a 560,I've had the guitar for about 8-9 years and I never was sure what it was.I never did any research on Ibanez models and it wasn't until within the past year or 2 where I noticed what I saw on the neck rg550.I knew current rg550s have the H/s/H set up,I just assumed maybe it was different in 87 and they just started using that configuration in the 90's.Is a 560 a higher model of guitar than the 550 or a lesser model?

Th 550 has always had the H/S/H setup and 560 means only that it has no pickguard as the H/S/S setup. Besides that, it's the same thing with the same quality. The necks are the same, that's why you see 550 on the neck.

It's neither a higher or a lowerend model of 550, only a matter of taste for the setup.

Attention:
the RG 560 is HB, sc, sc.
and they did this front routed design as well with direct mount pups..
also, does the head stock say usa custom?
almost all Pamelina graphics were from the usa custom design.
otherwise it was after market by Pamelina.... and i doubt that...bur possible
let me know...
