Yeah I know I went AWOL again, but this time it was due to kidney stones. This is the 4'th time in 3 years that I have battled them and they get the best of me. I'm not sure what to do about it but I know if I don't do something soon I am very liable to lose a kidney. Has anyone else ever had problems with them? If so let me know what you did, and if there are any herbal remedies, I hate modern medicine. I am trying to avoid surgery at all costs 1. because I don't have insureance and it would cost me an arm and a leg and frankly I would rather just lose a kidney and 2. I would much rather take care of it naturally. Anyone with suggestions feel free to talk.

I'm feeling better now, but I lost 3 days from trying to sleep away the pain. I still hurt a little but it will eventually stop, then in a few months the severe pain will be back. I am currently taking mepergans for the pain but they don't help like they should. I got a shot of demerol when I went to the ER Sunday and drove myself home afterwards. They don't affect me like they should. You should barely be walking after a shot of demerol, none the less driving. I am still in search of herbal remedies, I have heard marshmallow root and gravel root are supposed to be able to help break up stones. As soon as I can find some I will conduct my own study. That's all for now.

Ooo.. ouch. My dad had kidney stones a long time ago. He had to pass them. Never had them again. Man, when he had them he was on the floor dying in pain.
That sucks. |

Yeah, there is no such thing as being comfortable when you have kidney stones. Because of the location they make standing, sitting, and laying down nearly impossible. All I could do was lay on the couch and writhe in pain and cry, yes I cried, it was that bad. I have been through it 4 times now and each time is equally painful. I am expecting them again sometime in the not so near future because if the severity and regularity of the occurences. The only good thing is now I have a very high pain tolerance and demerol. Anyways, no news yet as to what can be done about them (I have no insureance so it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to get it checked out) but when I do I'll keep everyone posted. I'm moving into my new apartment tomorrow so I won't be on for a while.

Sorry to hear this
I can't offer any advise. My dad had kidney stones, but I he went to the doctor for it and I'm sure conventional medicine was used.
I hope you find something to cure the problem - sounds really painful.
PS - my vote went to "Shoot myself in the foot" - I seem to do that often enough anyway _________________ ...dance like nobody's watching... |
