Nah... the older ones are nice..
but the newer stuff is mediocre..
unless you get an artwood series... but they are still made in Korea/China...

hey there
i have a couple of lonestars from the mid eighties. they were built in japan and i would put them up against any guitar these days. i also have an artwood that i am not very happy with. it is a 7 string jumbo acoustic. for the price i could have got a better guitar. on the other hand my dad and a friend of mine both have morre entry level dreadnought artwoods and they are nice guitars for the price ( approx $300 ). ibanez also made some other acoustics in the 80's and i hav yet to play one that i did not like.
hope this helps

The "Artwood" series of Ibanez acoustics, seem to be very well made. Especially the AW-500 Dreadnought. The few I have seen are made in Korea. I'm not to hep on guitars coming out of Red China.
Ibanez lists a newer model, the AW-1050 CERLG. It is an all solid wood dreadnought with under saddle pick-up electronics.
I am having a hard time finding these two models anywhere. The dealers I have shopped at, all seem to handle the very cheap Ibanez models and don't want to sell the higher priced ones. If I can find and handle either of these guitars, and get to play them, I may very well buy one.
But then again, it's impossible to find these models. I live in Missouri. I have canvased stores in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Arkansas.
Has anyone played these models, or own one? I could use some help and advice. Thanks.
