V saved me some embarrassment. Either way, Friday night turned out much better than Friday day had started. We went and saw a cover band called Paint the Earth. These guys did a lot of Green Day type stuff, alternative light as I like to refer to it, that I really don't care much for. However, they did awesome covers of Blur, Cowboy Mouth, and Violent Femmes. Really good show. Lot of nice gear, too. The drummer was behind a 9 piece Yamaha Stage Custom, the guitarist had an Am. Strat, and the bass player had a Stingray 5. In between sets I was intoxicated enough to go up and talk to them. To my suprise the bass player offered to let me check out his Stingray. THAT IS MY NEXT BASS!!!!! Man, I fell in love with it. The tone and sustain were unbelievable. Anyway, all in all it was a good time. It really gave me the itch to get out and start playing live again. I hate it when I go through this because I always spend a lot of money. Well...I'll need a new head, and if I get a new head I'll need new cabs to go along with it. I'll need some effects, it just all adds up. Wink At least this time around I have a wife to keep me grounded. She has no problem telling me "Hell no." Oh well, it's nice to dream.
