Soundgear user here, although it's an un-pedigreed one. Might upload a pix of it one a dese days (so someone can tell me what it is), but it plays a beaut. Bought 1997. All wood, sweet tone, got soaked in a tropical rainstorm duing a charity gig my band was playing and had to have the neck dried out in a heater after.
The shop I bought it from in Singapore sometimes carried what it calls "prototypes" from Ibanez, which I take to mean that they are trial models before mass runs? Anyone playing one of these?
It's got a lovely flexible tone thanks to the various mid- and treble- sweeps, annd I find it so much more versatile than the best Fender has to offer.
Like I told Thunder, am glad to find a small community of users, let's hope we can get some stuff running here like in Fenderforums.com. So I'll start the ball rolling here.
What are your top 5 "Test Drive" Songs - u know, the kind u play when u go into a music shop and pick up a new bass and wanna put it through its paces?
