Hey,

I have an SR800 bass, and the volume output is different for each string. If I remember right, the A and D are a lot lounder than the E and G. Anyone know what could be causing this? You can't adjust the individual string height on this bass, and there are no pole pieces on the pickups AFAIK. I tried chnging the battery, but that didn't help.

Can someone help me out here?

thanks.

EK

wow, well that would of been my two recommendations...

perhaps, check the electronics cavity and see if their is a capacitor on the vol or tone pots.. they could be going bad... or even a pot itself...

let us know...

I am having a similar probnlem on a Fishmen transducer where the E and the A are really loud compared to the rest of the strings... but im popping in a new fishman and see if that fixes it.. (different guitar and electronics but similar in problem...

It could also be your strings. The E and G could be going dead.

actually, I used to think that the different volume thing was a liability, but now I think it's a feature! Very Happy

The E and the A on my soundgear are WAY louder than my D n G especially with the mids swept all the way up, the E gets thouroughly rumbly. I would need a tech to get into the cavity and check it out though. Last tech who touched it franked it up though so I'm a little wary of that now.

I tend to compensate by varying my attack, etc. Oddly, the uneven sounds helps me cut through my wah playing guitarist and drummer at close quarters... the boom puts the low end through on the E and A, while the more trebly D n G also sing high over the other two musicians.

Cool, glad it worked out for ya. I'm still working on trying to figure out the tone controls on my new Jazz. It takes some playing with.
