I was looking through my local pawn shop last year and I came across an Ibanez GX60. I paid 70 bucks for it and was quite impressed when I got it home and plugged in. 1 12 inch Ibanez speaker, back plate says 150 watts but I have my doubts on that. High and Low imputs, a pre-out and main in, 2 footswitch jacks, one for overdrive the other for the reverb, 1 line out and a headphone jack. Overdrive and reverb, bright switch, bass and treble controls and a parametric EQ with controls for level and frequency. I have no idea when it was made, the serial number is 301529, if anyone can date it by that or by the model, I would appreciate the info.
Sound is excellent, as good, if not better than any Crate amps I have heard, including my own. It is a great practice amp and would be fine for a small room, great garage band amp. The flexability it gives me to shape my sound is what I really like about it, I have a used Kramer Ferrington that I never played through my Crate because it sounded like crap no matter what I did, all highs and no lows, but I plugged it into the Ibanez and had a smooth, full sound within minutes.
So far I am having pretty good luck in buying the only two Ibanez products I have ever owned, now if I could just find some info on the *Holy Censor, Batman* things! |
