|
|
Thanks for the info posted.
Can you tell me if it has solid back and sides?
Was the #511 one of the better mandolins in that range?
Any idea of its cost in relation to the rest of that range?
My one would be 25+ yrs old.
I have to decide whether I have a major repair done to my
#511 or let it go.
Respond via new email address: < thannock@westnet.com.au >
Many thanks |

We, as you can see in the text of the picture the mandolin is built in carved solid spruce top and beautiful maple sides and arched maple back.
Slim neck with adjusteble trussrod.
Rosewood fingerboard with perloid dot inlays.
Chrome plated metal parts.
Brown sunburst finish.
That means solid top and laminate sides and back.
The 511 is the cheapest mandolin in the range.
Here are the German pricelist from 1976 (DM= Deutsche Mark - I think 1 DM cost approx 0.5 $USD at that time):
Model 524 = 495 DM
Model 523 = 475 DM
Model 522 = 395 DM
Model 521 = 325 DM
Model 514 = 110 DM
Model 513 = 129 DM
Model 512 = 119 DM
Model 511 = 109 DM
Model 100 = 119 DM (roundback)
Model 80 = 99 DM (roundback) |
