Thats a cool history note. Its still in pretty decent shape too. I like the thin neck, I have short pinky. I can rip on it. I find it interesting there is a lweb page on this. It took me all night to figuire out what it was till I found that other page. Thanks for your input and sharing that information.
Any recommendations out there for Classic Rock pickups? Using a peavy 450 MAxx with a dual showman cab, with 2-15" mid freq black widows |

Sure do. I had an RB630 once and I put an EMG Select (make sure you use a passive pickup as your bass is passive and not active) precision pickup on it and it rocked. I also use the Peavey Max, but I have the Max700 that I play thru an Avatar 2x12 cab (for gigging). Ibanez stock pickups were pretty good though, but the newer pups are better than the early 80's stuff. If you want a great bass website - check out activebass.com I am there alot. You can have a homepage, check out their lessons and reviews, and also chat with us (we have a very eclectic & international group) on the "Fretbuzz". _________________ The Saint |

I am sure my bass is the RB620, not the 630. Its just s single pup. Dimarzio I think. Staggared. Are the 620's active too? I remember the first day I had the bass in the studio, it was so hot they had to compress the kaka out of it. The recording engineer said he had never seen anything like it but did get it under control.
My favorite amp was my old acoustic 360-301 combo, with the 18" reflex speaker. That thing rattled the earth. |
