I recently purchased an inexpensive, second-hand, but very sweet SA, with some kind of humbucker at the bridge, and single coils in the two neck positions. Serial number is: W831307. How can I learn more about the components in this guitar: bridge, brand/model of pickups?
I'm thinking maybe installing a Gibson humbucker to replace the stock one. What about a split coil humbucker? I'm particularly partial to big, clear tones, not much into distortion. I also REALLY like the splanky, back-beat sound of the stratocaster on Eagles recordings. Are there bridges that do a better job than the one on my SA?
I just want to learn a lot more about this guitar, and the possibilities of having some fun "customizing" it! Thanks!
